Fried Chikin

The first time I had jackfruit was in a burrito. It was a pulled pork bbq burrito. The jackfruit resembled the pulled pork texture really well. This inspired me to make fried chikin with it. Thanks for reading my post see you in my next one!

Ingredients

560g of green jackfruit one brine ( a whole can Tropical sun brand)

3 Vegan vegetable stock bullion cube

1 cup plain flour

1/2 cup of water

All purpose seasoning

Cayenne pepper

3 tsp himalaya salt

Oil for frying

Method

I drained the jackfruit from the can and put it into a pot of boiling water. I put 3 stock cubes into the water and let it simmer for 15 minutes. After this I then drained the excess liquid from the pieces of jackfruit.

BATTER: While the jack fruit pieces were draining I put my flour into a bowl and added my seasonings and stirred in my water until it was a thin pancake mix consistency. I then made another seasoned flour the cayenne pepper was only added to the dry mix. I put the pieces into the batter then dry mix twice and fried them for 4 minutes on each side. I used medium heat I recommend this as you would not want your oil too hot the jackfruit will brown really fast.
