Ingredients
- 2x Lamb Shanks
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 Tbsp lard
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 of a chicken stock cube
How to make it
Pre-heat a fan-assisted oven to 150 deg C or 300 deg F.
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 of a chicken stock cube
Pour the water and stock cube into an oven tray.
- 2x Lamb Shanks
- 1/2 tsp salt
Rub all sides of the lamb shanks with the salt.
- 1/2 Tbsp lard
On the hob, on the highest heat, melt the lard in a large frying pan till it sizzles.
Brown the lamb on all sides (you might want to open a window), make sure all the sides are done, it will probably take about 15 mins.
When all sides are done remove from the heat.
Add the lamb shanks and cover the tray with thick aluminium foil.
Place in the oven and bake for 3 hours without peaking!
Serve with the juices.
