This beautiful, pet-friendly restaurant feels like a greenhouse, with its surrounding glass windows and gorgeous alfresco dining area. Canopy Bishan, located in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, is a perfect spot for sitting back, with a book in hand and coffee on the table. The diverse menu here includes pasta, burgers, pizzas, and a daily brunch till 2pm.

Go for their signature Crabmeat Aglio Olio ($21++), or try a Black Angus Cheeseburger ($23++) laced with truffle mayonnaise. Yet another eatery in the sprawling Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, GRUB serves bistro food at pocket-friendly prices. If you plan to dine here on a weekend, be sure to come early so you can chope the best seats in the house. As the old saying goes, the early bird gets the worm, or in this case their English Breakfast Plate ($15++).

WAWAWA Bistro by the Reservoir joins our list of restaurants in parks, overlooking the calm waters of Bedok Reservoir. It’s perfect in the evening when you can sit back, with your four-legged friend by your side, and watch as the sun sets on the horizon. New to the menu are donburi bowls starting at $13.80++ for a Chicken Katsu Don. They’ve also got other international options such as their Signature German Pork Knuckle ($26.80++), as well as a Soft Shell Crab Laksa ($13.80++) for a local favourite.

Five&2 is a social enterprise bistro located in Punggol Park. They’re known for their Spicy Oyster Scallop Omelette Pasta ($19), a take on our local hawker favourite, oyster omelette.
Five&2 takes local inspirations for a further spin in Spicy Salted Fish Pasta with Sliced Pork ($18.80), where pasta is zhnged-up with bits of the addictive preserved fish. They’ve even got dishes for your furry friends, with human-grade ingredients made into Crispy Salmon Cube with Carrot Puree ($15.80). This also comes in a beef option.

5. Bee’s Knees
Close by to the Cluny Court exit of Botanic Gardens is Bee’s Knees. This pet-friendly restaurant is situated on the ground floor of dining hub The Garage. They’ve revamped their menu, with Asian-inspired dishes. We loved the Spicy Duck Loaded Fries ($17++), loaded with Sriracha cream and mozzarella, as well as the Seafood Stew ($28++), packed with a medley of seafood in a piquant, full-bodied broth.

Yet another dog-friendly mainstay in the Botanic Gardens is Casa Verde, located right at the Gardens’ main visitor centre. Whatever your dining preference, Casa Verde has something on the menu for you. They’ve got Western-styled Gourmet Breakfast ($20+), local heritage items such as Nasi Lemak ($15+), and even selections of pasta and pizza. Prices here veer on the most costly side, but you’re dining in a UNESCO-recognised conservation area!

7. East Coast Commune
If you’re a regular at East Coast Park, give East Coast Commune a shot when you’re there next. This newish cafe easily wins top spot for prettiest hangout in ECP to date, with a menu that includes sourdough waffles, sandwiches, and pasta.
Give the “CharMee” ($16+) a try when you’re there, flecked with house-smoked barramundi from Ah Hua Kelong. We also have a soft spot for the Oat Masala Chai by The Chai Baba ($6+).

Set in a colonial black-and-white, Wildseed Cafe @ The Alkaff Mansion has all sorts of feels that brings me back to a sultry summer afternoon I spent at Kew Gardens in London. This pet-friendly floral cafe has a charming conservatory that you’ll love for the ‘gram, but maybe not the heat. Don’t let this put you off yet, because there are also air-conditioned seats indoors.

You’ll find your usual brunch suspects here, but for something different, give the Wagyu Beef Pie ($14+) a shot. It’s baked to order, so expect to wait a little for this. Otherwise, there’s also a Kelong Prawn & Scallop Pizza ($25+) that features local kelong seafood, and cherry tomatoes from the Cameron Highlands.

Taking over from where Vineyard used to be is another Canopy Garden Dining outpost on Singapore’s Southern Ridges. The stunning decor reminds us of Balinese resorts, especially apt in today’s travel-starved world.

The Western-centric menu here has brunch and all-day dining options, headlined by a Cold Angel Hair Pasta ($42++) that’s tossed in white truffle oil, and looks almost too good to eat. There’s also a Rosemary Chicken ($25++), praised for being a well-prepared rendition of the chook. What’s more, Canopy HortPark is also dog-friendly!
